Cultivating Wisdom: Fall 2019 – Winter 2020

Cultivating Wisdom: Fall 2019 – Winter 2020

 – 1st Sunday of each month: Oct 6, Nov 3, Dec 1, Jan 5,

 Feb 2

“Groups run by and for women are our psychic turf;

our place to discover who we are, or who we could become,

as whole independent human beings.

Somewhere in our lives, each of us needs a free place,

A little psychic territory. Do you have yours?”

~ Gloria Steinem, Outrageous Acts and Everyday Rebellions

This ongoing, advanced-level circle takes a feminine approach toward more fully integrating your understanding of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).  Cultivating Wisdom bridges your conceptual knowledge of ACT toward a more embodied awareness by interweaving inquiry, support, discussion, and teachings on a wide range of topics depending upon the interests of the participants (e.g., self-care, intuitive listening, softening into possibility). The foundation has been set by your participation in Preparing to Awaken — where you gained a shared knowledge of the teachings and language to communicate efficiently. The long-term vision is a dedicated circle of women who meet regularly — potentially over the course of years — supporting one another’s essential self-discovery and transformation. (As an example, you might visit the webpage for Returning to Essence.)

Format: Cultivating Wisdom is a long-term, ongoing circle offered in repeating 5-month blocks. This affords the opportunity for you to enter the circle, gain a felt-sense of the group over the course of five months, and exit the circle if it is not a long-term fit for you.

Timing: Two sessions are offered annually: 1) the Spring-Summer session meets monthly in April through August and 2) the Fall-Winter session meets monthly in October through February. We skip March and September.

Enrollment: This is a brand new circle. Applicants are eligible for this circle if they have completed participation in  Preparing to Awaken (2018, 2019) or The ACT Group (2017).

Going forward: In October 2019, openings might be available for this circle. Women who were enrolled in the Spring-Summer segment have first right of refusal for enrollment in the Fall-Winter session. For example, if two members of the Fall-Winter session choose to exit the circle in February, then two slots will be available for the Spring-Summer session starting in April. Those two slots would be made available to new participants. Priority will be given to women who have not yet had an opportunity to join the circle.

Attendance:  Because space is limited to 10 participants, the cost of registration is for the 5-month segment regardless of attendance. (Registration will not be pro-rated based upon your availability.) If you miss a session, audio recording will be provided so long as the members of the circle agree to recording.

Eligibility: In order to participate in this advanced-level circle, you must have completed Preparing to Awaken (in 2018) or The ACT Group (in 2017).
